Snowy Christchurch

What a fantastic 48 hours it has been here in Christchurch. We woke up in the middle of the night (1:16am to be precise) to find the lawn and cars covered in snow. I didn't think it would last till the next morning, but it did and the snow just kept on falling. It truly felt like a Winter Wonderland. The children played in the snow for most of the day, only returning for a warm change of clothes and a yummy bowl of pumpkin soup and date cake to keep their tummies happy! We had several Keren inspired snow fights, ate snow ice-cream made of condensed milk and hot chocolate and numerous attempts at building a snowman....Keren kept on kicking the poor snowman into little pieces. Dad couldn't get to work so we made the most of our day off. There is still plenty of snow around. The roads are very slippery and we try not to go anywhere unless it is necessary.
The girls finally managed to make a snowman today. He's a cutie!

  1. We thought you must have been up early to take those first photos! Don't you girls look cool in your pink and red jackets in the snow. And Yay for the Cute Snowman!
