Mountain to Sea challenge

Today we did the mountain to sea challenge for Room 24 &26. We explored so many things - and collected a few rocks too!
We went all the way to Arthur's Pass and back. We followed the Waimak back to Christchurch and made lots of stops to see how the rocks and river changed as we got closer to home. We stopped at Castle Hill for lunch and had heaps of fun checking out all those magnificent rocks. Apparently the battle scenes of Narnia's "The lion, the witch and the wardrobe", were shot at Castle Hill.
Here is Shania, Nicolene and Georgia. They were buddies on the trip.

Michelle's 8th Birthday

Michelle had a great birthday party. There were plenty of friends to share the fun. Michelle iced  her own cake and helped with the decorations. They played musical statues, pin the tail on the donkey and tag. They also watched Brooke's new Barbie DVD. Thank you for all the prezzies!

Mum's other "sister"

This is Alan and Colleen (in the middle) and their partners. We were neighbours for a very long time in Drongo Rd.
I think Colleen and I were both 1 year old when we first met and our mums had their hands full with us....he-he!
Alan and Riaan are still best mates. Oh, the good old days!

We finally made it to Timaru. Here the girls enjoyed their first of many rides on this bike. The owners made a fortune out of them!!

Cows galore

We have lost count of all the cows in the district! Everywhere we went we saw hundreds of cows.

Easter Weekend II

Next on the list was a very quite little town called Geraldine. They had a farmers market on with all sorts to buy and try. Here is their Vintage Car Museum.

This is a lovely garden we saw on our way out of town.

Winchester, never heard of it before! Well there is another little dot of a spot called Winchester. They even have a rural school with interesting murals on the buildings.

Last stop before Timaru was Temuka. I have never seen so many old buildings in one street before. What a fantastic place to visit!
