New Years Eve 2009

The Heritage and the Millennium at the Square.

Beautiful tiles on the walls of a building.

The tallest building on the South Island.

Hi Mum! Here is the dress I made. It has a jumpsuit too. I can't wait to try it! Hope you have a lovely New Year and hope to see you soon! Lorraine xxx

View of the Avon.

There was an Abba show on at 9:30 at the Cathedral Square - but we decided not to wait for another hour to see the show. It was rather chilly out there...brr!

The Swiss Cafe.

New Regent Street with the pastel coloured buildings....thanks Jenny!

Cathedral Square

Here are the annual Ballantyne Christmas Stories they display in their windows.

After dinner we went to the city centre to check out the scene.
The bridge of Remembrance is in the background.

.......more desserts - rice pudding for the girls and chocolate brownies for mum and dad.

We had another lovely New Years Eve dinner with nice treats for dessert. Mum is really glad all the festivities are over, 'cause all we have been doing is eat, eat, eat!

Beach time

After we had a rest on Christmas day we were off to the beach. The weather was absolutely fantastic. We could even go for a swim without turning into ice cubes.
Later that evening we went for a bike ride to go see some Christmas lights at an elderly couple's house. It was magical! Sorry no photos - mum forgot the camera....

Christmas Eve

Dad cooked up a storm on the BBQ (South African style) with our much loved boerewors. Mum made a very nice potato salad and for a second or two we thought we were having Christmas Eve back home! For dessert we had home made chocolate mousse and ice-cream. Dad couldn't get enough of the chocolate mousse!! And of course we had to dig into those prezzies Santa brought us later that evening when we all had a bath.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! We hope you all had a wonderful day!

Dancing @ Expression

Last Friday night we had our end of the year hip-hop performance at Celebration Centre. It was so cool and the music was loud and fun. We both received our certificate of achievement and enjoyed dancing in front of a big crowd.

School Holidays etc

I love smiling at the camera! This is my favourite pose.

Today was our first official day of the school hols. We asked Dad if we can camp in the living room tonight and he thought it a very good idea! How exciting!

We have been training Charlie to sit on our hands and say a few words. He's not that great at talking at the moment but loves having his cage door open. He climbs up and down and over it. One night we forgot to put Charlie back and he slept the whole night on top of his cage!

Daddy's birthday

Little critters made of clay.

Dad's bird feeder is made from driftwood. We were told to fill it with raw peanuts and apparently the birds love it!

Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you......On Saturday we celebrated Daddy's birthday with a home-made cheesecake (yummy) and a delicious BBQ. And as a surprise we bought Dad a very nice bird feeder. We had to pick it up in Rolleston on Sunday and had pizza for lunch in the park.
